At Withington Pride you can enjoy a day packed full of events for everyone!

Expect an art exhibition showcasing some of Manchesters most outstanding queer artists of colour, lots of stalls and crafts for all age ranges, music across multiple venues, a street party flaunting some of Manchester’s best queer DJs and of course—a parade!

Come and join the celebrations and show your support for your local LGBTQ+ community.

Programme

Arts and Crafts at Withington Baths 10:00-13:00

3 free family-friendly workshops holding space for creative self-expression and collaborative activism. Rooting the event in Pride’s radical intent, we will hold a donation point for the Trussell Trust Withington and Fallowfield food bank. FREE.

Public March 13:30-14:00

Physically marking and celebrating the history of Pride and the Stonewall Riots, the march offers a declaration of local LGBTQ+ presence, unity and pride. The march ensures Pride is a collaborative endeavour, made for and by Withington’s LGBTQ+ community.

Gravy Mag Exhibition of POC LGBTQ+ Prints 14:00-18:00

Centering POC LGBTQ+ artists from Manchester and opening a space for their visual voices, we will transform the walls of WPHI into a gallery space for prints. Accompanied by poetry performances. Curated by Manchester-based, independent publication Gravy Mag. FREE.

Children’s Crafts at Withington Library 14:00-16:00

Withington Library will be offering a Pride bracelet making session 2-4pm drop in, provided by Street Style surgery. FREE.

Community Stalls at Withington Library 13:00-16:00

Ensuring Withington Pride acts as a locus for the building and sustaining of community networks of care and support. FREE.

Healthwatch Manchester - Providing information and signposting to health and care services and collecting views, opinions and experiences of LGBTQI+ people around accessing health and care services.

Southways Housing – Sharing what Southways Housing offers to the community and an opportunity to make rainbow crafts.

The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV Service – Find information about your local sexual health services.

Be Well – When a medical approach isn’t enough to help you find a way to live and feel well, Be Well are here to offer free 121 support and coaching.

Ladybarn LGBTQ+ Group – Come and introduce yourself to this new friendly community group based in Ladybarn Community Hub.

SUBLiME Street Party, Davenport Avenue 14:00-20:00

Celebrating LGBTQ+ creativity and voice through public performance. Bringing free music to the streets to build and strengthen a diverse and inclusive sense of community, belonging and place. Supported by Cafe Blah. FREE.

Old Moat Park Sports Day 14:00-17:00

Shows of strength (tug-of-war), solidarity (3 legged race) and silliness (the infamous egg and spoon) at Old Moat Park. The event celebrates Withington’s green spaces and advocates for community health, while reflecting the history of Manchester Pride (in 1985 Canal Street hosted the Gay and Lesbian Olympics, including a boat race down the canal). Supported by MCR-Active. FREE.

Secret Set @ The Victoria

A secret set from long-standing Withington Resident and band. Details to be announced. FREE.

Information on the History of Pride @ IceShack

IceShack, a local queer owned ice-cream parlour, will be providing pamphlets on the history of Pride as well as a range of Pride specials.

Riot Garden Collective * Fuel, Live Music 17:00-1:00

Celebrating LGBTQ+ creativity and voice through public performance. Highlighting our ethos of diversity within unity through a varied and engaging programme. Produced by Riot Garden Collective. FREE.

Haven After Party at WPHI 19:00-2:00

Holding space for radical joy and freedom of expression in the form of dance and music. Setting the event at WPHI aims to support an inclusive sense of belonging and place in Withington by emphasising that ‘public hall’ means such spaces belong to the community as we belong in them. Produced by Haven. Tickets on the door, £7.
