For the latest in RNCM’s Decontamination series, they’ve programmed Sarah Hennies’ Contralto, an hour-long work for video, strings and percussion. Contralto uses the sound of transwomen’s voices to explore transfeminine identity and examines the intimate and peculiar relationship between gender and sound. This project exists in the space between experimental music and documentary and this will be the Manchester première.
