The final day of The Superbia Weekend includes music, dance, conversation and more:
11.30am: Yoga session.
Start Superbia Sunday being kind to your body and mind with a free relaxed yoga class, suitable for all skill levels. Mats provided.
12.30pm: Panel: LGBT people, faith and spirituality.
Join a conversation on religion and spirituality from an LGBT perspective. Christian, Buddhist and Muslim voices come together to consider faith and the spiritual life. With Justin Freeman, Vicken Couligan and Tawseef Khan.
2pm: Panel: LGBT asylum seekers and refugees.
Hear from experts on the asylum situation and process for LGBT people, with Moud Goba of Micro Rainbow International and representatives from Manchester’s Lesbian Immigration Support Group.
3pm: Performance: WAST Choir
Presenting an uplifting musical interlude as Manchester’s Women Asylum Seekers Together Choir perform a special vocal recital.
3.30pm: Panel: LGBT sobriety, recovery and substance misuse.
A frank and informed discussion considering alcohol and drug use and misuse, treatment and recovery, in the lives of LGBT people.
4.30pm: Superbia Cinema
A programme of specially selected LGBT films.
5pm: Vogue workshop with Darren Pritchard.
Dancer, choreographer, and Mother of the House of Ghetto, Darren Pritchard presents a beginner’s vogue dance workshop. Vogue is an expressive style of dance created by queer people of colour with its origins in New York ballroom culture. No dance experience required, just enthusiasm!
