Sexuality Summer School

Sexuality Summer School

22 May - 26 May

The Sexuality Summer School is a 5-day event for postgraduates, organised by the Centre for the Study of Sexuality and Culture (CSSC) at the University of Manchester since 2008. The Sexuality Summer School brings together postgraduates, researchers and international scholars, as well as artists and filmmakers, to facilitate dialogue and discussions that speak to contemporary debates in queer and feminist sexuality studies, with a particular emphasis on the interdisciplinary study of culture.

In the 2017 SSS, we ask ‘Why Be Normal?’. We will focus on norms, normativities, anti-normativities and the history of the normal in queer and feminist debates on sexuality and beyond. Daytime workshops for SSS students will be accompanied by public events open to all. Tickets for screenings and performances will be available online from the venues.

Registration for the Sexuality Summer School is open to all postgraduate taught and research students (Masters and PhD) involved in the study of sexuality.
