It’s Complicated: Thinking About Gender, Thinking About The Divine
The Friends Meeting House, Manchester, M2 5NS
16th August 2015 @ 02:00pm
In her recent research Quaker theologian Jennie Barnsley asks two questions:
- Is gender as simple as the two-box system of Women and Men we think we know so well?
- And if it’s really more complex than that, how might that complexity shape the way we think about the Divine?
Her response to the first question is that gender is far and away more complex than we think. Her response to the second is to use life stories of complex gender experiences to think about how living those complexities might illuminate the complexities of the Divine.
Jennie is offering a workshop at: The Friends Meeting House, Manchester, M2 5NS at 2pm on Sunday 16th August
