60/50 Live: The Cruel Sister

05th October 2017 @ 07:00pm

Superbia supports two new micro-commissions from artists for this one-night event at Bury Art Museum with artist Jez Dolan.

Dolan has been undertaking a residency at Bury Art Museum thoughout 2017, focusing on the significant LGBTQI+ Anniversaries of The Wolfenden Report (1957) and The Sexual Offences Bill (1967), presenting a mixture of new and existing work and ongoing curatorial interventions with the collection.

The latest part of his project is 'The Cruel Sister' (2017), a rework of the painting 'The Cruel Sister' (1850) by John Faed, which is part of Bury's permanent collection.

Join us at Bury Art Museum for an unveiling of the 'The Cruel Sister' rework and premieres of the two successful micro-commissions from artists responding to the work – Joshua Val Martin and Greg Stephens and The Boat Band.
